About Us!
Kelsey has had one goal for the last few years: to perform all of Carole King’s 1971 album Tapestry, which she deems the best album of all time. When the New Jersey Fringe Festival in Hammonton, New Jersey was announced to be coming back after the pandemic, she knew she had to make this dream come true. Thus The Melodymakers were born!
The Melodymakers are a modular group of musicians from the South Jersey and Philadelphia areas. Although the members of the band shift, the band is always led by Kelsey Brown, lead vocalist and pianist. The Melodymakers’ goal and mission is to resurrect amazing music from the 1960’s - present by folk and rock artists back into the cultural zeitgeist for new generations to hear and be inspired by. Music by artists such as Carole King, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, and James Taylor, just to name a few, are artists that inspire us as musicians and that we want to pass that inspiration and meaning onto our audiences. Join us on our musical journey to bring that mission to life!
Right now, The Melodymakers is primarily a solo venture featuring Kelsey Brown (Vocals/Piano) and a duo venture featuring Kelsey Brown and Michael R. Dugger (Saxophone/Vocals). However, if requested, a full band can be put together to do tribute shows to Carole King & Fleetwood Mac!

We are currently booking the following shows:
General Mixed Set - Kelsey Brown (Solo)
Featuring Kelsey Brown (Voice/Piano), our general mixed solo set features songs from the ‘60’s - present in various genres, including Pop, Rock, Country, and more! Kelsey can also perform showtunes and holiday sets upon request. These general mixed sets can span between 45 minutes - 1 hour, and she can do 1-3 different mixed sets at an event, depending on the time frame.
General Mixed Set - Kels & Mike (Duo)
Our general mixed duo sets feature songs from the ‘60’s - present, with varied genres from Pop to Country to Jazz. These general mixed sets can span between 45 minutes - 1 hour, and we can do 1-3 different mixed sets at an event, depending on the time frame.
Our duo set features Kelsey Brown on vocals/piano, joined her spouse, Michael R. Dugger (The Company, Day Undid) on Saxophone/Vocals.
Tapestry by Carole King
Our Tapestry show features the entirety of her most famous album, including the bonus track of “Out in the Cold” from the 1998 re-release. Other additional songs performed by or written by Carole King can be added upon advanced request.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Our Rumours show features the entirety of their most famous album, including “Silver Springs” as well as “Rhiannon” as an encore song. Other additional songs by Fleetwood Mac or Stevie Nicks can be added upon advanced request.
A Tapestry of Rumours
Do you want both Tapestry AND Rumours?! Well, have no fear, A Tapestry of Rumours is here! A Tapestry of Rumours is an approximately 2-hour show, with one 15-minute intermission in-between albums. This show features the entirety of Tapestry (with the bonus track of “Out in the Cold”), paired with the entirety of Rumours (with the bonus track of “Silver Springs” and encore of “Rhiannon”).

Kelsey Brown
FOUNDER/MANAGER, VOCALS, PIANO
Kelsey is the Vocalist/Pianist for The Melodymakers, as well as its founder. She is also one of the lead singers for FuseBox, a PA/NJ-based band, as well as the second keyboardist for the Almost Cher show. Her musical inspirations include Carole King, Paul McCartney, and Stevie Nicks.

Michael R. Dugger
VOCALS & SAXOPHONE
Michael is the Saxophonist/Vocalist for The Melodymakers. He is also the saxophonist, keyboardist, and sometimes vocalist for The Company, as well as the saxophonist for the jazz fusion band Day Undid. His musical inspirations include John Coltrane, Stan Getz, and Chris Potter.
